The Longbow Hunters are a famous group of highly skilled and deadly mercenaries and assassins who are heavily feared in the criminal world.

The exact moment of creation of the team of mercenaries, known as the Longbow Hunters, is unknown but they were already existing in the 50s. Their existence also seems to be perceived as a urban legend by the Bratva and the rest of the criminal world as the real identities of the members are always unknown and they hardly come out into the open. The Longbow Hunters' abilities are so terrifying that just their names induce fear into anyone: they are so feared that even the League of Assassins' members stated the Hunters to be incredible menaces.

In modern days, the current members of the team are the metahuman assassin, Silencer, the shielded mercenary Kodiak and the highly skilled sniper, Red Dart. The group also was affiliated to the Ninth Circle, a secret society responsible for centuries of worldwide regime changes, which was led by the deceptive Dante.

At some point in time in the 21th Century, Dante ordered Kodiak to kill Kazumi Adachi, an old flame of Robert Queen and the mother of Emiko Adachi, a promising young girl that the Ninth Circle wanted to bring into their organization.[1]

In 2018, Ricardo Diaz allied himself with the Ninth Circle after he became the head of the Quadrant organization. Dante sent the Longbow Hunters to help him in his war against the Green Arrow and his team.[2]

First, the group stole a power battery from an A.R.G.U.S. black-site;[3] then, they attacked a train to steal an energy weapon but John Diggle managed to retrieve the weapon, letting the Hunters escape.[4]

Not long after that, the Longbow Hunters were sent to get a compound but they were confronted by Dinah Drake, Rene Ramirez and F.B.I.. During the fight, Silencer was captured and, later, interrogated; she was eventually freed by her fellow Hunters.[5]

After Diaz's arrest, the Ninth Circle continued to use the Longbow Hunters to complete their conquer of Star City. Some time later, one of the Hunters, Kodiak, was tracked by Green Arrow and Spartan and defeated by the joined forces of the two vigilantes who, after questioning him about the murder of Kazumi Adachi and the Hunters' employer, let him be arrested by the SCPD.

Because of Kodiak's arrest, the other Longbow Hunters left Star City and never returned there, leaving the Ninth Circle to face alone the Team Arrow which eventually managed to stop the secret society.
